...We were preparing for the opening of what was, at the time, our most advanced ride ever. A 10-minute culmination of live-action effects and a lengthy VR sequence twisted together to form a thrilling attraction. 2 years later, we're getting ready to reopen it as part of our The Crypts opening event tomorrow, the 13th December!
Join us as we celebrate the ride's second birthday by looking back at some lesser-known facts about this towering attraction!
Nyctophobia: Twilight actually features a 2nd ride entrance, located around the back of the ride warehouse. This was built specially for use during the 2nd half of the VR scenes!
One of the more notable features of the attraction is the somewhat peculiar naming scheme. All characters that you meet within the ride have names beginning with D, as a nod towards the attraction's largest source of inspiration - Derren Brown's Ghost Train. Indeed, the very first person you meet as you go into the ride is named Darren!
The strobe maze midscene contains parts which are unchanged from Nyctophobia Sentinel, the attraction that used to be in its place. This means that the strobe maze has been used in 3 attractions throughout its lifetime: Nyctophobia Sentinel, Nyctophobia: Twilight, and Nyctophobia Unleashed!
Nyctophobia: Twilight features one of our most complex and developed storylines we've ever released - it's had 5 attractions throughout the history of Fantasy Islands! No other singular storyline in the park has ever had that number of attractions.
